“A pleasant little concert took place at Association Hall yesterday afternoon. Mr. Sweet, a young baritone, opened the performance with a very tasteful rendering of a song by Prince Poniatowski, and gave evidence of a clear, flexible voice of light timbre and a fair amount of training. Then Miss Sophie Heilbron played a piano solo, a rather commonplace and tedious arrangement of the old-fashioned Krakoviak,’ by Wallace, in which the excellence of her technique, however, was abundantly shown. Mlle. Paragini sang ‘O luce di quest ‘anima,’ with brilliancy, intelligence and clear phrasing, and Miss [Jennie] Lewis recited selections from Mrs. Browning and other authors. Signor Agramonte was the conductor on the occasion.”
