Review: New York Post, 25 January 1875, 2.

“On Saturday afternoon, at the eighth popular concert at Association Hall, Miss Anna R. Bulkley sang Mercadante’s cavatina ‘Ah! S’estinto’ very artistically and Hatton’s song ‘The Curfew’ to the satisfaction of the audience. She was encored and repeatedly recalled. Miss Bock, an exceedingly young lady pianist, played Tausig’s ‘Soirée de Vienne’ and Liszt’s difficult fantasia on Mendelssohn’s ‘Midsummer Night’s Dream’ remarkably well. As an encore piece she gave the ‘Spinnlied,’ from Wagner’s ‘Flying Dutchman,’ as transcribed by Liszt, with great neatness and facility, and was fully appreciated.

Mr. Ellard, who has an agreeable tenor voice, sang Wallace’s ‘Home of my heart’ and Balfe’s ‘Good-night, Beloved,’ tolerably well.”
