“The Misses Katie Kane and Annie Morgan, both excellent vocalists—the former possessing a full, pure and sweet soprano voice, and the latter a rich contralto—comprised the additions to the company at Tony Pastor’s on Jan. 25. They both sang in the female-minstrel first part, which continues a very attractive feature; and later in the evening Miss Kane sang serio-comic songs quite successfully. Tony Pastor sang a new song, with a pretty air, descriptive of various impossible conditions under which a young lady had promised to marry him. It is likely to become popular. In response to several encores, he repeated some of his freshest songs, being aided in the choruses of several by the boys in the gallery, who never fail to elicit considerable applause. Kitty Whitland in neat male attire gave fresh songs-and-dances, which received decided marks of approbation. Her dancing was excellent…The average attendance has been good…”
