“The performance given at this house last night by the Soldene troupe for the benefit of the attachés proved an immense success. Every seat in the house was filled and hundreds of people were compelled to witness the performance standing. ‘Mme. Angot’ was selected for the occasion, and Miss Soldene never appeared to better advantage in her admirable impersonation of Mlle. Ange. The bénéficiares, Messrs. Finan and Kingstand, reaped a substantial reward for their uniform courteousness to the habitués of the theatre. The benefit tendered to these gentlemen last night was one of the most successful of the season and was a flattering recognition of their popularity and worth.”

“The Soldene English Opera-Bouffe Company made their last appearances at the Lyceum Theatre during the past week, the clever representations of the merry bouffers giving a successful termination to the season at this house.”
