“The experiment begun upwards of two months ago at Robinson Hall seems to have succeeded—French Opera Bouffe in an English dress proving an attractive element in Summer theatricals. This pretty little theatre continues open, and fresh features are introduced from time to time into the entertainment—‘Girofle Girofla’—which occupies its stage. The spirit of the French original is not preserved, but the result reached is a merry English farce; and this serves the good purpose of amusing a desultory summer audience.”
