Review: New-York Daily Tribune, 27 July 1875, 5.

“The reappearance of Miss Clara Fisher was effected at this theatre last night, and this delicate, sympathetic, and pleasing vocalist was heard with delight and greeted with many plaudits. Miss Fisher is crude as an actress, and perhaps too liberal of her best effects as a singer, whereby it happens that she does not rise to a climax; but she possesses a beautiful voice, and she has been trained in a severely correct school of musical art; and, accordingly, she is easily at the head of the company assembled at Robinson Hall, and worthy, indeed, of higher and better work than is here provided for her. ‘Chilperic’ was given with the same cast as before, except that Miss Fisher acted Fredegonda. The ballet showed unusual prettiness. The blot on the performance is the long-drawn, wire-woven humor of Mr. Atkins, as the Court Physician. His prescription talk last night should have been hissed—only it is the law that audiences have no rights.”

“The reappearance of Miss Clara Fisher last week in ‘Chilperic’ made a decided improvement in the cast and in the attendance, and the performances now run smoothly and give evident satisfaction.”
