“…Bobby Newcomb in songs-and-dances was compelled to respond to numerous encores, which proved his great popularity in this city…Hattie Forrest in serio-comic songs pleased her audience, and she was charmingly costumed…Fayette Welch performed upon a large number of musical wind instruments, and in response to a hearty recall appeared in an entire change of costume and danced a jig, furnishing his own music by playing on a fife…Wayne and Lovely, and well-known song-and-dance performers, met with a cordial reception, and were compelled to respond to frequent encores. The performances concluded with a new comic operetta by George Ware entitled ‘The Three Sisters,’ the characters of which were sustained by Mrs. George Ware, Mrs. R. A. Brennan, Miss Fanny Bean, Miss Nellie Loraine, Messrs. George Ware, R. A. Brennan, and Tony George, all educated musicians. This portion of the entertainment proved particularly enjoyable, as the music was fresh and pleasing, the thirteen numbers being, with two exceptions, original.”
