“At the Metropolitan Theatre the newcomers included the Jee Brothers in their clever performances upon ‘Musical Rocks;’ the Brandt Sisters, who met with a favorable reception in songs-and-dances; Lew and Pauline Parker (recently from California, their first appearance in this city), who were seen to advantage in a protean Ethiopian sketch called ‘Those Happy Days”—both their singing and dancing deserve commendation; W. A. Huntley, an excellent banjo performer, who deservedly won several encores; James and Barney Kine, who displayed their proficiency in bone and tambourine solos; Seamon and Somers, clever song-and-dance men; Miles Morris, in Irish songs-and-dances…The opening of other theatres had a visible effect upon the attendance here.”
