“‘The Cancan,’ which closed the performances, excited great enthusiasm, as a most liberal display of the female form was made. Some songs were sung in the French language, accompanied by dancing of a very suggestive character. During this act all the ladies wore long dresses, and their limbs were encased in silk tights, over which they wore stockings gartered at the knee, and scanty underwear. The attendance continues large.”
