“Philharmonic directors here (about eight of them) from 4 to 6 p. m. Boxes to be sold at auction. Other seats to be reserved at option of each subscriber, who may secure his seat for concerts & rehearsals, by paying an extra $3.00. I urged this, and I think the subscribers will approve it. I have talked to many of them during the summer. It was agreed to with tolerable unanimity. Our meeting was a Tabaks-concilium.”
