“Yesterday was Easter. Early down to Trinity, to secure our pew. Service orchestral—nearly the same with that of last Christmas—(Haydn’s 1st Mass)—effective & approved. Crowd dense. Even the sidewalk was packed, they say.

This morning’s World says that Messiter added a ‘tombstone part’ to the score of Haydn’s Mass. Can this mean ‘trombone?’”
