“At Trinity Chapel this p.m. with Edmund Schermerhorn, & we were godfathers to Pech’s second baby ('George Edmund'—long life & prosperity to him)—God-mamma was Mrs. Lombard, wife of an active member of the C. M. A. Baby is nice & big eyed & behaved charmingly, in spite of an arm sore from recent vaccination. Baby’s sister, Miss Minnie, of about three, is a lively little personage. Rev. Swope officiated. I incline to think that quiet little Mrs. Pech an uncommonly strong & fine little woman. How much there is in that service, & how one’s eyes fill when one looks at the helpless little recipient, & thinks what it all means! There were about a dozen at afternoon service today.”
