“At Wood’s popular Minstrel Hall the attendance has been very large indeed all the past week. The aisles have not only been filled with camp stools and their occupants, but Manager Wood has found it necessary to have a large platform built, which is placed (after the other portion of the house is full) at the extreme end of the hall and up against the door. Chairs are placed upon this, thus affording good sitting room for a large number. Yet this has been found not sufficient to accommodate the overflow, and crowds were turned away every night last week who could not obtain even standing room. The Matinees every Saturday have become very popular, and are largely attended by ladies and children.”
