“Called on the rector, & administered a little stimulus as to my long-desired orchestral gallery, or triforium, on the south side of Trinity chancel. I let it drop, because Cisco demurred to the cost—but if Dix will pronounce decidedly for it, as I think he will, we can put it through.”

“Long session of Supplies & Repairs Committee [Trinity Church] this afternoon with the rector…After some demur, chiefly from Cisco, I got authority to procure plans and estimates for the gallery or triforium on the south side of the chancel [to accommodate an orchestra]. Now at last there is prospect of being able to effect that improvement, unless the estimates be too large. It will be a vast improvement.”
