“The first of a series of Saturday afternoon concerts was given at Association Hall on December 5, at which Mr. Browne played two solos on the organ, and Mr. W. F. Mills two solos on the pianoforte. Miss Thursby’s delivery of Arditi’s waltz was so much admired that it was redemanded. Miss Bulkley exhibited her beautiful voice and finished execution in Pinsuti’s descriptive song ‘The Raft.’ Mr. Baird sang ‘The Palm Trees,’ by Faure, so well that he received an encore, and then gave Hiller’s ‘Prayer’ with remarkably good taste and expression.”
