Review: New-Yorker Staats-Zeitung und Herold, 29 December 1874, 5.

“Fräulein Lina Mayr made her Germania Theatre debut last night. The house was filled, even though ‘Die Fledermaus’ has already been thoroughly done at the Stadttheater. We would argue that ‘Die Fledermaus’ makes a much better impression in the smaller, confined space of the Germania Theater than in the Stadttheater, or at least that was the case last night. The finery of the music and the striking points of the dialog were better appreciated last night, or at least better than ever before. Fräulein Lina Mayr will be a guest at the German Theater on Mondays going forward.”
