“A very interesting recital was given last night at the church of St. Vincent Ferrer, corner of Lexington avenue and Sixty-sixth street, by S. Austen Pearce, Mus. Doc. Oxon. The programme consisted of sixteen well selected pieces by Mendelssohn, Beethoven, Liszt, Schumann, &c. These were all played from memory with great skill and effect by Dr. Pearce. The recital was given to invited guests, and we understand Dr. Pearce will give another in a few weeks. The attendance was very large.”
