“…Jennie Morgan outranks in artistic merit most of the serio-comic vocalists upon the variety stage. She has a voice of great compass, remarkable purity of tone, and so sympathetic that, notwithstanding that many of her selections are beyond the intelligence of her auditors, she elicits liberal applause. She has been but a short time upon the variety stage, but had previously sang with marked success in first-class concerts in the principal Western cities. Later in the evening, with her sister Annie, who made her debut on the variety stage at Buffalo, N. Y., on Oct. 26, she sang duets which were freely applauded. Annie Morgan has a rich, contralto voice, pure in tone and thoroughly under control…Tony Pastor’s comic songs are among the most attractive features of the programme. He is constantly adding to his repertory, and the good humor he displays in responding to numerous encores has made him one of the most popular artists that have appeared on the east side of the town…”
