“The music of the mass, Meiner’s No. 2 in D minor, was given in a creditable manner. The ‘Christe Eleison,’ a duet for soprano and alto, was rendered in excellent style. ‘Et in terra pax,’ of the ‘Gloria,’ a trio for tenor, alto and basso, which is considered the gem of this mass, was done full justice to by the singers. In the ‘Credo’ the ‘Genitum non factum,’ a tenor solo of much beauty, was a pleasing performance. The other themes ‘Et resurrexit,’ ‘Et in Spiritum Sanctum,’ and ‘Qui locutus,’ are noticeable compositions, and received good treatment at the hands of the choir and organist. The ‘Sanctus’ and ‘Agnus Dei,’ arranged from preceding numbers of the mass by the organist, Mr. Danforth, seemed to impress the audience very favorably.”
