A “petite soirée musicale,” in one of the rooms of the Cooper Institute, was given by Anschütz as a presentation of new artists he brought back from Europe.  Most of the artists performed, but the locale was inappropriate for judging the skills of a singer.  The general impression was good.  A young light soprano seems particularly well prepared to succeed, due to the quality of her voice, the liveliness of her diction, and the good taste of her method.
