Wetzlar Natives Annual Festival

     On Monday evening, Wetzlar natives [Hesse, Germany] now living here held their annual church consecration festival in the Harmony Garden on Essex St.  The festival was exceptionally well attended, and proceeded gaily and cheerfully.  A singing club [Gesangverein] in attendance performed several songs, and the Union Brass Band, under the direction of Mr. Kissenberth, saw to it that the feet of dance-lovers never got to rest. The locale’s proprietor, Mr. Sulzer, contributed to the success of the festival with an outstanding supper and his excellent beverages.
