“Dr. Colton respectfully announces his first grand exhibition for the season, of the nitrous oxide laughing gas. . . . Sixty gallons will be made and administered.  Twelve gentlemen will inhale the Gas, the same care as formerly being exercised in the selection.  Dr. C. will endeavor to deserve the patronage of the same class of ladies and gentlemen that have attended his exhibitions in former years.  The anesthetic effects of the Gas will be explained.  An Evening of Merriment and Music.”
