Death of Billy Quinn, the minstrel.  “Billy Quinn is no more.  He died in this city on Sunday, Nov. 29th, at 3 A.M., of consumption, from which he suffered long and severely.  His age was 26 years.”  Quinn worked with Charley White, George Christy and most recently with Robert Butler’s troupe at the American Theatre.  He waas primarily a jig dancer, “but recently he turned his attention to other branches of the minstrel business, and while at 444 Broadway appeared in a variety of Ethiopian eccentricities.  The funeral will take place on Tuesday, Dec 1st, at 1 o’clock, from his late residence, 211 Thompson street, the remains to be taken to Calvary Cemetery.”
