Camille was a success.  “It’s a rich burlesque, cleverly performed, and has made an immense hit. . . . There were great houses at this place on Thanksgiving; it is said that 1800 persons were packed in there on Thanksgiving night, being the largest audience ever ‘assembled within those walls.’”
