“The house during the past week was filled nightly. . . . Owing to the injury sustained by the black horse on the first week of Miss Fisher’s engagement, another animal was substituted a portion of last week to do the ‘fiery and untamed steed’ business, but ‘White Surrey’ was not untamed enough, and therefore the horse business was not sufficiently spirited; the black recovered, however, and appeared at the close of the week in his proper form, and everything was given in orthodox style again.”
