“Upon management’s news that the second performance of the so-called local farce, ‘Anton in America,’ was being cancelled owing to the playwright’s wish, no special perturbance prevailed. The author, who calls himself Seeberg, but whose real name is Landberg, has done the audience a big favor, in that his play would have likely suffered the unenviable fate of hissing and booing upon being performed a second time. Instead, two comedies, ‘Ich werde mir den Major einladen’ and ‘Rekrut und Dichter,’ were given. Their performances were both praiseworthy.”
