“[A] regiment of colored troops, raised under the auspices of the Union League Club . . . will receive their stand of colors from the ladies and parade through the City previous to embarking for the seat of war tomorrow. They will arrive at Madison square at about one o’clock, and after receiving their flags, which will be presented by John Jay, Esq., and partaking of a luncheon, they will march, at 3 o’clock, down Fifth-avenue, Fourteenth-street, Broadway, Canal-street to Collins’ wharf, where they will take steamer for the Burnside Expedition. The fine band of the Fifth United States Artillery, from Fort Hamilton, will furnish the music.”
