The Sunday soirees held by the Deutsche Liederkranz have introduced well-known performers and a few new and diligent amateurs, and the programs have been interesting.  At yesterday’s event, Mr. Paur conducted well and the soloists sang well.  Stovaus, a student of Mr. Mills, enchanted the audience with her clean and correct recital of “Die Post” by Stephen Heller.  Wedemeyer turned out to be an excellent cellist and played with ‘bravura.’  The highlight of the concert was Beethoven’s Sonata, which was performed by Mr. Brandeis and L. Meyer with an exquisite sense for nuance.
