Announcement: New-York Times, 26 March 1864, 5.

A Ball for the Benefit of the New-York Roman Catholic Orphan Asylum.—The claims of the orphan on the charity of the public are ever to be remembered. On Tuesday evening next a ball will be given at the Academy of Music for the benefit of the Roman Catholic Orphan Asylum in this City. The entire proceeds are to be handed over to the Trustees of the Asylum, who will use them in the manner that may best conduce to the well-being and comfort of the orphans under their charge. From the number of tickets already sold, the affair promises to be most successful. A number of our most prominent business men have taken hold of the matter, as regards its management, and on Tuesday evening next the Academy is expected to be thronged with a brilliant assemblage.”
