“The Barili brothers—Antonio and Ettore—gave their annual concert at Irving Hall last night, their pupils singing, in many instances, with the ease and skill of professionals. . . . The entire class performed with good effect choruses from ‘Due Foscari,’ ‘Nabuco’ [sic] and the ‘Vestale.’  A quartette from ‘Martha’ was heartily applauded, and the entire entertainment gave much satisfaction to the friends of the performers.  A number of musical notabilities were among the audience, and the occasion was another proof of the high adaptability of American ladies for musical culture.”
