“Henry Wood . . . applied for a permanent injunction restraining Richard R. Coker (Master Wood, Balladist) from singing in any hall, &c.  Mr. Wood claimed he made an engagement with the father for $5 per week for the first year, and $10 per week for the second year.  It was claimed that the boy had left the company and that the father had violated the contract.  A motion was made to make the injunction permanent.  This was opposed, on the ground that Mr. Wood had promised to give the boy a musical education, which he declined to do; that the boy was sick for two weeks and could not attend, whereupon Mr. Wood discharged him, at the same time discharging the father as doorkeeper and procuring his dismissal from the Register’s office.  The Court, after hearing the facts, denied the motion for a permanent injunction, and dissolved the preliminary injunction with $10 costs.”
