In first part of “City Summary.” Long discussion about a possible new theatre for Laura Keene. “There is talk of another theatre to be built up town, but we have no authentic information upon the subject. The name of Laura Keene has been mentioned in connection with this proposed enterprise, and we have no doubt the Keene lady would like to settle down once more among us, in her own shanty. . . . We don’t believe Laura has made a great deal by her travelling business—carting around three or four people, paying their travelling expenses, hotel bills, baggage smashing, in addition to their regular salaries, is not a very profitable employment.”
