Announcement: New York Clipper, 21 May 1864, 46.
“Madame Johanna Claussen, the lively and sparkling German Soubrette, is at present playing at the Stadt Theatre with success. She has appeared in three characters, and in all three she is said to have made a most favorable impression. The German papers state that since the times of Henriette Meaubert no such soubrette has been seen at the Stadt Theatre.  Mad’lle. Claussen, (Mrs. Jervis,) will appear in a new comedy-farce entitled, ‘The power of Gold,’ for the benefit of Jean Klein, the excellent comedian at the German Theatre.”
