“To-day has been set apart, in accordance with repeated requests, for the second grand gala day of the season.  The ice was never in better condition this season, which fact was fully testified to by the crowds that visited this pond yesterday.  There will be a double band of musicians in attendance during the day and evening, who will discourse choice and varied selections of music.  Beside the usual display of bunting, there will be another grand illumination in the evening, from 7 to 11pm.”
