“At the Old Bowery, last week, business was most excellent.  Fanny Herring took her benefit on the 9th inst., on which occasion she displayed her great versatility of talent by appearing in the leading role in “Aurora Floyd,” and assuming the three principal characters in the military drama of the “French Spy.” In the first piece she appeared to much advantage. She made a very favorable impression upon her audience and will, no doubt, repeat the character again. . . .The house was filled in every part, there not being standing room when the curtain rose.  The benefit was a big thing, of which the beneficiaire may be well proud.”
