Long article on the dedication, with extensive description of the church.  “THE CHOIR.

A very fine choir occupied the organ loft.  Professor Schmidt [sic], the organist of St. Patrick’s cathedral, offered his services for the occasion, and under his able direction a very attractive program of sacred music was beautifully rendered.  This comprised Mass No. 2 in D minor.

Offertory—Quano delicta soprano solo, with chorus

          Veni Creator

          Benedicitus—Soprano solo, with chorus

          Te Deum

From an early hour the church was filled, and when the hour for commencing the mass arrived it was uncomfortably crowded in every part.

“The grand high mass was magnificently sung by the choir, their superb voices filling the church with harmony.”

No mention of music. “A very large congregation assembled in the church yesterday.”
