“The concert of the ‘Laetitia’ chorus — the best of St. John’s Sunday school — was held Wednesday evening in the Germania Assembly Rooms. It was one of the best that this church choir has ever presented. The arrangements for the festival, which applies to both the anniversary celebration of the Sunday-school club as well as that of the saint for which this church was named, left nothing more to be desired.  Attending this was an exceptional [illeg.]. Choruses and solos had been competently rehearsed and were presented well, which is to be expected of a choir that presents difficult motets and hymns every Sunday with precision. The St. John’s parish can be proud of its choir; for his tireless service, the director, Mr. R. Goller, to whom the success of the concert must be attributed, deserves recognition from all sides, including the concert’s audience. In any case, the festival’s outcome was such that the Sunday-school club can be satisfied with it.”
