Review: New York Clipper, 02 December 1865, 270.

"W. H. Lewis, now known as Henry Rice, joined the San Francisco Minstrels last week, and appeared in his great burlesque prima donna act, in which his make up and acting are excellent.  He is capitally supported by Mr. Wambold.  If our readers wish to enjoy a good laugh let them see Rice and Pickled Hominy, Wambold as Trlhoorick Smearkase [sic].  The hall is crowded every night and the company seems to please all.”
