Article on Julius Seffelberg, Bass Singer

Since last mid-summer, Mister Julius Seffelberg, a bass singer of reputation, has been residing in this city. However, so far the New York audience has not been given the opportunity to hear him. As we have been notified, this will change soon. Seffelberg has successfully performed at famous opera houses throughout Germany. He also sang at the Imperial Opera House in Paris. Maretzek has engaged him in the beginning of the fall season, yet Seffelberg has not performed yet. It is unfortunate that we are not given the opportunity to experience a singer on our stage that has been so popular in Europe.
