Announcement: New York Herald, 30 November 1865, 4.

“The San Francisco Minstrels are in their thirtieth week in Broadway, opposite the Metropolitan Hotel. They claim the ‘nulli secundus’ of talent and perfection, and the crowds which fill the house endorse the claim. The favorite performers, Birch, Wambold, Bernard and Backus, are there this evening in airs of every nationality, while jigs, clog dancing, the burlesque of ‘Young Africa,’ and the feats on the flying trapeze, follow is rapid succession to the end.”
