     “An entertaining concert was given . . . by a large chorus of young singers under the direction of L. A. Benjamin. The exercises consisted of solos, duets and choruses, with orchestral accompaniments, also recitations, declamations and dialogues. The proceeds were devoted to the benefit of the Fiftieth street Presbyterian Church. The large hall was never so crowded before, and many were unable to gain admission. Of the youthful performers may be mentioned Miss Webster, Master Jones and Miss Ida Bell Jackson, though all did creditably. The concert will be repeated to-night, with a change of programme.”
