“The Exhibition of Dancing and Tableaux will commence at 8 o’clock, and the entire floor of the Academy (as at the Light Guard Firemen’s and other great balls) will be thrown open to the spectators for general dancing at 10 1/2 o’clock…Professor Clark of the Academy of Music will illuminate the Tableaux in the exhibition, by calcium lights of extraordinary power; and also, later in the evening, will throw intensely powerful lights over the entire floor, thus forming, what has never been attempted before at the Academy—immense shadow dances for the general dancing.”
