“The annual Christmas services at Old Trinity brought together a full audience; for all the friends of the old church mustered in force in honor of the day, a few of them being merely annual representatives of devotion to the church, and those, with the regular attendants, so filled the place that it could hold no more.

The services were of the most interesting kind.  The choral and instrumental parts were perfect in every respect.  Old Trinity seems to improve with age.  The musicians and singers deserve the higest praise for what they yesterday achieved.  At half-past two o’clock in the afternoon, Mr. Ayliffe, the chimer, commenced ringing the following chimes on the Trinity bells.”
