“The Most Rev. Archbishop McClosky will celebrate two Pontifical High Masses at 5 1/2 and 10 1/2 o’clock, assisted by large numbers of the subordinate cleregy.  A new Mass, the fourth of Mr. Gustavus Schmitz, the organist, is to be sung.  The Mass, which is in G, is dedicated by Mr. Schutz [sic] to the Very Rev. Father Stares.  It consists of minor and grand choruses, solos for soprano, alto, tenor and bass, and duets for sopranos and tenor and soprano and bass voices.  The remainder of the musical programme comprises favorite solos and choruses. The lead singers will be – Soprano, Mme. Chome; alto, Mlle. Paulitz; tenor, Mr. H. Schmitz; basso, Mr. Debreuil.”
