“The well known contralto singer and actress Felicita Vestvali was yesterday before Judge Barnard, of the Supreme Court, in chambers, on the suit of Henry D. Palmer, formerly her agent, on a claim for moneys due him from one of their engagements.  The difficulty, however, was compromised in a manner satisfactory to both parties.”

Notes that dispute was over an earlier engagement at Niblo’s, which was not as profitable as expected.  Part of Vestvali’s compensation was her wardrobe, valued at $1,700.  The management of Niblo’s claimed a percentage, as did Palmer.  Vestvali refused and was arrested when they heard she was preparing to leave the country.
