“Attracted by the announcement that the distinguished orator Frederick Douglass, was to speak upon Abraham Lincoln, a large audience, made up of about equal; proportions of white and colored people, filled last night to its full capacity the large hall of the Cooper Institute.
The exercises of the occasion were opened by music, vocal and instrumental, by a class of young ladies from the colored schools of the city.”
