“Daughter of the Regiment, with all the Original Music. . . . Jenny Lind . . . Miss Emilie Melville, in which she will sing several New and Popular Songs.”
La Fille du Régiment, a “grand drame romantique et musical,” followed by the operetta Jenny Lind by Emilie Melville; Tony Denier, dancer; dances on one leg; W. B. Harrison, comic songs.
“This is the last week of Miss Emily Melville’s engagement at the Museum. She plays, every afternoon and evening, in the operatic piece, ‘The child of the Regiment’ and the farce of ‘Jenny Lind.’ In both she is complimented by hearty applause, and in the latter, especially, she sings a number of songs in a manner which again proves that her immature and undeveloped, but very positive, talents, ought not to be neglected.”
“Miss Emily Melville has proved quite an attractive card for Mr. Barnum, her singing and dramatic performances bringer her much into favor. . . . W. B. Harrison, who makes songs as he sings, off-hand, creates a great deal of fun by his clever hits at men and things.”
