“Barnum announces the celebrated Adelphi drama of the ‘Wreck Ashore’ – one of the most interesting plays on the stage.  A farce will precede its performance.  In the morning – which, by the way, is the best hour to visit the Museum – the Boone family combination will appear in their chaste entertainment.  Chased also – in another way – have been the two alligators recently added to Mr. Barnum’s zoological collection.  These animated curiosities are each twenty-one feet long.  The size of their mouths conveys but a feeble idea of the strength of their appetite, but this is considerable.”
