“Two attractive concerts take place at this establishment to-day.  The first is at 1 o’clock, and is given by Mlle. Eugenie Baruetche [sic], a pianiste [sic] who has frequently played with Mr. Gottschalk.  The lady will be assisted by Mrs. Jennie Kempston [sic], Miss N. Millet, Mr. Theodore Thomas, and Mr. W. Dressler.  A programme of eleven members has been provided – ranging through the best repertoire of music.”

“Mlle. Barnetche also gave a Matinee at the same establishment on Saturday.  The principal feature of the entertainment was the singing of Mrs. Jennie Kempton, who was loudly and deservedly applauded.  This was the first appearance of the lady since her return from California.”
