“Among the interesting musical novelties of the Winter season will be a series of piano-forte recitals undertaken by Messrs. Wm. Mason and S. B. Mills, with the cooperation of Mr. Theodore Thomas.  There is a vast library of excellent music arranged for four hands and two pianos, which is seldom heard in the concert room. . . . Trios will be performed, when Mr. Thomas’ bow will be brought into requisition.  The recitals will take place in the day time and be given, if we are rightly informed, at Steinway’s Salon, Nos. 71 and 73 East Fourteenth-street.  They are to be weekly.”

“Mills and Mason, the pianists, will give during the season a series of piano-forte recitals at Steinway’s rooms, at which they will perform a variety of composition for two pianos.  Theodore Thomas’s violin may also be heard at these entertainments, which will take place in the day time.”
